If it never works again, it will be worth the $10 I paid for it. My cat Petunia has so much fun batting the little mouse around. She will hide and watch it until the right moment. Bam! Radio controlled mouse gets slapped, and off Petunia goes to hide again.

The mouse does seem to keep less charge than it did the first night, but it has held up well to getting knocked around. When this one goes to Radio Controlled Mouse Heaven, I will probably buy another one.

1. Use fresh batteries in the remote. And remember that batteries don't last forever. Don't blame the toy. (consider using rechargables!)

2. Be sure to TURN OFF remote switch when finished with play session or you will drain the batteries without even knowing it. This is probably why most people here are giving this a negative review, which is user error imho.

Maintenance: The gears will jam up if your floors have lint or loose hair as hair especially wraps around the axle near the gear wheels, so you need to take this apart (easy to do 3 tiny screws)) and use tweezers & a knife point of needle to clean out anything wrapped around the axle near the plastic gear wheels when mouse stops working (and isn't due to needing a charge)

I've lost the directions, but I'm pretty sure you need to re-charge until the red light on the remote goes off (to get a full charge).

The mouse ONLY works for 8 minutes before needing to be re-charged; this is enough for most cats. I think most owners miss this in the instructions & blame the device in reviewing.

Yes, it takes a bit of maintenance, but your cats will be so intrigued, it's worth it. I put ours away for a bit before re-introducing and this renews interest.

It worked twice then it would not charge anymore . The thing that moves the wheel feel off on it . I put it back on it but it was only good for a little a while. It feel off again . I took off the mouse part which is just sitting on top . It has 4 screws on it . The connection between remote and it is about 5 feet. It is like you have a invisible wire to it . Don't buy it

Some people seem to be confused about how this works. It only takes a few minutes to charge of the AA Batteries. It works for decent amounts of time, but you have to be pointing the remote at the mouse and other household things that use radio signals, like my step-dad's helicopter, can interfere (but the interference works both ways).

The older cat loves it, the kitten is a little afraid of it... but it's definitely fun and worth having around. Granted, it's not a toy that has any use if you're not around to charge and run it.
