I have two cats which are a mother and her son. The mother goes crazy over these things and I can't keep enough of them on hand. She plays with them for hours (carries them, bats them, chases them all over the house). All I have to do is show her one and she's ready to play and it gives her a great aerobic workout. But her son is indifferent to them. Just depends on their nature I guess like us and our favorite "toys."

My younger cat plays with these constantly! He carries, throws, bats, attacks and does anything he can with these. Hardwood, tile, even carpet because he can still roll them. The only problem I have is that he chews them up within a week (not to mention me stepping on one in the middle of the night).

My husband and I have seriously been searching for these toys for over a year. We have three cats, and one of them discovered that if he carried one of these to the bathtub, he could bat it around for hours with it always coming back to him. He loved them, and played with them, and one day, when the last one at home inevitably disappeared... our local pet store was no longer carrying them. We began our search-independent pet stores, googling, petco, petsmart... I even did a thread in reddit asking if anyone could tell me where to find the things! People suggested I use milk bottle rings or other small toys, but seriously, don't you think we TRIED those? NO other toy would satisfy our overindulged lazy lump of a cat. And then one day... after spending about an hour scrolling through every cat toy Amazon has... I saw it. THE TOY.

We bought four packs at once, our lump cat is thrilled with them, and our other two cats like playing with them too.

Caveats: They hurt like hell when you step on them in the dark, and you WILL step on them in the dark. They WILL get lost under your fridge, dishwasher, other appliances. People will make fun of you for wasting money on a glorified milk jug ring.
