This coat is excellent for cold and snow. The chest measurement is the most important to allow the dog's legs to fit comfortably into the sleeves. I have a medium-sized dog with a deep chest and the x-large fits her quite well. The hood was too big, so I rolled it back halfway and this keeps her ears warm and allows her to look around. The scarf and hat are pretty ridiculous and I don't use them; nor am I crazy about the hot pink color. Nevertheless, this is the best coat I could find that would keep my dog warm and protected from the elements when we race walk 5 miles in subfreezing temperatures.
