THE GOOD: This item is priced fairly. The construction is fairly solid. Assembly was very easy. THE BAD: Our cat weighs 16 pounds. This item is NOT designed for a cat weighing 16 pounds or more. He cannot get into either of the two little houses easily enough to want to stay in them. The platforms are only 13.5" wide. Our cat hangs over the side. I'm fairly good at carpentry and thought it would be a good idea to just make the houses and the platforms a bit larger. Naturally I would need a small quantity of the "carpeting material". I phoned the "Friendly customer service" number and was greeted by a female that had an accent so strong that I had to have her repeat everything she said. The biggest disappointment was the fact that she would NOT speak to me at ALL concerning ordering anything including parts. No info. No prices. No nothing. She said it was all done by email. That was the end of our conversation. They advertise how very easy it is to order OR return anything they sell. I read the statement they have on their site which says, in part: "Refunds will only be given when we receive the item back in new and working condition. All shipping charges will not be refundable. A 25% re-stocking will apply for all returns. " OF COURSE they have no problem taking something back if all shipping is reimbursed to them and the 25% is most probably much more than they spend for the materials alone. Of course, there would be no problem returning to 'Amazon'. Kitten or small cat, buy it. Bigger cat? Forget it.Read Best Reviews of 51" Cat Condo Tree House Here
Im not sure why others said it took a while to set up. As a 24yr old female, it took me about 20 min from box to up and cats playing. ( maybe I got better instructions?)The cons about it are that the boxes arent all that big. My adult cats can fit into them yes but I was expecting them to be an inch to two inches bigger all around. My oldest cat loves sitting on the very top and the platfroms are big enough. Our kitten loves the mouse toy and he hasnt taken it off yet. He is been pulling and yanking at it for about 4 hours now. ( however and older cat may be able to take it off easier, im not sure, my old boys are lazy! haha ) Also non of them have used to scratching posts but they seem pretty good.
All around it is a great cat condo/tree.

This is a decent product, but I guess I didn't read the info carefully enough when I bought it because I thought our two larger cats would enjoy it -and that's impossible. This is definitely for smaller cats.I spent two excited hours putting this together after I got it. The cats watched me the entire time. Upon completion, I was a little astonished at how tiny the little cat houses are. No cat over 10 or 12 pounds could get into one of those things! My 15 pounder has never paid the product any attention, but our 22 pounder does get up on one of the top platforms to look out the window. He hangs over the sides, but he seems to enjoy it.
For awhile, I thought about selling it. Or giving it away. Or just throwing it away. But it's too big to do anything with other than let one of our two cats lie on a platform from time to time. In its defense, it is fairly easy to put together, although the platforms don't seem particularly sturdy. Maybe they would be for lighter cats....
