31" Starter Kit Steel Cat Perch

I was hoping that this buy was not too good to be true and I was pleasantly surprised! My cat loves it! It was super easy to put together. My cat sat and watched me put it together and immediately started snooping around it. He has laid on the little areas next to the hidey house but hasn't ventured in that yet. I think I will have to find something to weigh the house down with as the bottom isn't supported but that shouldn't be hard to do. It also came with a scratching post which he sits on and scratches. What a fantastic buy for the price......really, I am amazed! He loves the toys that came with it and the tops of the supports are hollow which allows you to put more things to play with on the darn thing. It is huge! My cat is only a year old and is already 2 1/2 ft tall on his hind legs, he easily can climb all over this thing and lay on it and it holds up just great! I would recommend this for sure!

If I could give it minus stars I would. This thing is dangerous. Yes, it's easy to assemble; yes, my cats love it; I have re-assembled this countless times. When cats jump from level to level it loosens the "pipes" (they're plastic, folks). Honestly,velcro only holds for so long and then you wind up with a cat near asphyxiation which happened while I was sitting in the room. What happens when I'm not there next time? Don't waste your money. Don't put your cats' lives in danger.

The cat house states it is "31" starter kit steel cat perch". The cat house is made out of plastic, PVC pipes. It does not stay together and falls apart every time my cat jumps on it. The house description is false advertising.

First, I have not yet purchased any of this series via Amazon, but I have bought one basic cube locally, which prompted me to come look here. Yes, it is plastic tubing and not steel (false advertising), but... the cats are now fighting over who gets the top or inside of the cube. So indeed it is worthwhile and I am going to have to expand the "city."

Though light weight and easily knocked over, I have yet to see anything my two one-year-old wild girls cannot topple. The ability to customize their playground is not the only benefit. Cats (especially young ones) get bored with anything after a while. All parts are interchangeable, and you can change the configuration from time to time. Not only can you present the four-footers a "new" environment, but it will still be familiar enough that they will not hesitated to dive right in.

It would be nice if the struts were stainless steel to add a little weight/strength, but overall, that is not a great loss. Considering everything else they have managed to destroy, the cube (though it came apart twice) remains unbroken.

the plastic pipes broke after just a couple of day use by my two 5lbs kitten jumping and climbing on it.....maybe if the pipes where made of a light weight metal it would've held up better.very sad
