SmartyKat Fish 'n Play Catnip Activity Cat Mat

I picked this up at a local Wal-Mart in the bargain bin for like...$5. It was kind of an impulse buy, but now I wish I'd bought every one they had because I could put one in every room. My female cat LOVES the thing. I had noticed her "kitty loafing" on a poster that had fallen on the ground previously, so when I saw this I thought she may take to it...and boy, was I right! I don't even put catnip in it. She doesn't play with the little do-dads that are hanging off of it, just snuggles it and sleeps on it. My Male cat could care less about it, although he does pay attention when Miss Lizz is crinkling it. I definitely recommend this if your kittly is into the paper-texture thing! Wal-Mart.com has it for $10 (which it's not worth, but-whatever)...$15 is a little steep---Come on Amazon!

I've got 3 very different personality cats. They actually covet the mat when they manage to get possession. I sprinkle catnip on it which I'm sure stimulates the competition. I'm on the hunt for more of them. We've had the mat for over 6 months and it's held up well to the use it's gotten, I'm also disappointed at the cost Amazon is asking for, I realize it's routine to charge an outrageous % but "golly gee whiz".

Only ordered one of these but need to get more as after a couple of years, ours is wearing out from all the activity. Our five cats all play with it. When I fill the little pocket with catnip, that fish gets tossed around like crazy.

I got this for $3 at Big Lots. So worth it at that price! The mat is crinkly and fairly big, for a cat toy. It has a pocket for catnip. And it has several fascinating attachments. I bought it for the foster kittens and the mat is always occupied with at least 1 kitten all the time. I did wash it when one kitten went to the bathroom on it, which made the crinkly strings unravel. I twisted them back up again while wet which did the trick.
