At first glance out of the box, I was sorely disappointed about how small this thing was! Seriously, about the size of my palm! However, this toy seems very well made and what it "says" my dog loves! It's easy to squeeze for her, and it barks and pants!

The most important thing is she loves it and plays fetch with it often, making it "talk" constantly as she brings it back!

For the retail price, I most definitely would not buy it for her as she tends to make cotton balls out of her stuffie in minutes...but for the price I paid, well worth it!

Would definitely recommend!

ETA: Added 8/29/2010 I take back my previous statement of paying for this toy at full price! More than two years later.. and another new puppy, this toy is still going strong and still getting tons of usage!! Batteries have lasted this entire time too! Impressed!!

My dog has tons of toys, but plays only with her 3, "Barking Dogs." They are also extremely DURABLE. She has played with them for 2 yrs, (often by herself for hours), plus many times in washing machine and all 3 are still intact and BARK!

The first multipets I bought over 2 years ago for a frightened anxious unfriendly rescued Jindo. My "granddog" showed him how to make the parrot talkit said, "Polly want a cracker" and the turkey said Gobble gobble gobble" etc. Those toys lasted and amused my dog and us until a mini Schnauzer bent on destruction destroyed each one in 5 minutes (they were lovingly worn but intact after many playtimes). These new series make animal or human noises but no cute phrases etc. They are fun for the dog, do not make the Jindo anxious or predatory like squeaky toys do, and they are not annoying to humans but not as catchy either. They are durable and easily cleaned. They make excellent doggy gifts.

The toy is cute and my Yorkie definitely loved it, but he destroyed it within 15 minutes. All it took was 15 minutes for my 4lb Yorkie to rip a whole in the side of the dogs head. I took it away and sowed it back up and gave to him again the next day. He tore a new hole on the other side of the head. Sowed it up again and gave it back to him again. A few minutes later he tore an ear off. After that I figured it was a losing battle and put the toy in the trash. It was a cool toy the small period of time that it did last.

It didn't make it a week, but it drove her crazy while it lasted. And me. Somehow, I thought the sounds would vary, but it was the same sound, over and over and over. She has moved on to other noise making toys, and this toy has moved on to toy box purgatory.
