My 8 month old Golden Retriever puppy had this completely torn up within 24 hours. Thought a "Kong" toy would be more indestructable but terribly wrong. I will try to sew it up and re-stuff what has already come out, but I am completely disappointed. My puppy isn't even that aggressive. Sad... Pure waste of money.
My dog (45lb jack russell mix) usually destroys plush toys in minutes but he has had the small and large cardinals for a month. He has trimmed the tuft of hair on their heads and they're a bit dirty but are otherwise as good as new. He still plays with them but I've purchased the other birds to rotate in to keep his interest. He loves plush toys so I've tried a pile of the toughest plush toys and none has even been in the same league. The big bird even survived a night at the kennel with him!

This toy has lasted longer than almost any other toy my dog has and any one of the "Wild KNOTS" birds is my dog's FAVORITE.It has minimal stuffing (yea!!!) and the rope innards make it very strong and tough. The only thing I do is cut off the "hair" on top and I usually remove the eyes even though they're attached really well I just don't like to take a chance.
When he DOES chew through, I just pull out the stuffing and do a little "surgery" and it's good as new.
And of COURSE, the squeaker keeps him occupied for ages!
When the toy has seen better days I take it to the doggy park and it gets another go around.
DEFINATELY a good purchase. I keep one of each style in reserve now.
