I hang it from an eye bolt in the ceiling. I can swing it back and forth for the cat, but she's not terribly interested, unless I put catnip in it. Of course, that's why some catnip is included. It can be "rubbed" into the corrugations on the side, and then she's quite interested. This proves helpful for a cat who needs more stimulation, in a smaller area.
