Hagen Catit Design Fresh and Clear Cat Drinking Fountain

I bought this for my Ragdoll out of concern that I don't want him to get any urinary problems. I just finished setting up the drinking fountain and was surprised about how much larger it was than I had expected. It was a pleasant surprise though since I thought it would be smaller. It began to work perfectly after setting it all up and plugging it in. It also barely makes a noise so a plus on that. And pretty much after I turned it on, my cat (who was watching the whole time) decides to check it out. He first got a bit startled when his nose touched the water, but I guess after he realized that he could drink it, he started to get cozy and lapped it up. So within a few min of me turning it on and without any coaxing from me, he went right to drinking.

So far, very happy with this product.

I have 3 cats, 2 of which only wanted to drink from the bathroom faucet. I couldn't even brush my teeth without having them both jumping up to the sink! That problem is solved now thanks to this great water fountain! I read many reviews of many many different fountains and I especially liked that this one didn't have a bowl where everything would fall into it. The water just keeps recycling. It holds a lot, it's quiet, and thankfully all 3 cats took to it immediately. I would definitely recommend!

So far I am pleased with this Cat Water Fountain! It is pretty quiet for a fountain that is running constantly. Every once and awhile Ill hear it and think I left the water faucet on!! Otherwise my 2 cats spent almost an entire day checking it out, staring it down and then smacking the water out with their paw! They are now drinking out of it and seem to love it! It was easy to get it started...clean it out, snap it back together ad plug it in...oh and add the water!

I ordered this item primarily based on price, it is by far the lowest priced fountain with good reviews. I am very releived to say it was more than worth the cost and I would happily pay more money for this fountain. Firstly, this is a simple fountain that is not over engineered to increase cost and make it 'pretty' for no real reason. The entire thing consists of 4 parts; the pump, basin, filter holder, and fountain spout. The fountain can function with or without the filter and can be left running constantly for approximately 1 week before needing cleaning or refilling (based on two cats).

The pump is extremely quiet. Some other reviews have stated that it is no louder leaving the sink on low, in my case I think it is more quiet than that. It is no louder than hearing a light rain outside and actually takes effort to hear even when everything else is dead quiet.

In terms of cats, both my cats love this fountain. My more curious kitten took to it immediately after a few minutes of pawing at it and my more cautious cat was using it after about a day. The height of the fountain is just about perfect and lets them stand and drink without having to hunch over down to the floor. The constant flow keeps the water fresh, oxygenated, and cool and both my cats seem to be drinking more than when we just left out bowls of water.

On a side note, I personally really like that there is no 'pool' of water with this fountain. Most cat fountains function more like a waterfall in which the water is pumped out and falls into a drinking pool. This fountain pumps the water straight up the center of the spout at very low pressure so the entire surface of the water spout is the drinking surface and then the water flows right down to through the filter and back into the basin. This is important to me bacause my cats can be a little messy when they eat and on top of hair and dust I would find bits of food in the bottom of the water bowl or pool in other fountains, but with this fountain any loose bits of food, dust, or hair are immediately filtered out.

If you're looking for a cat fountain get this one! As long as your cats accept it you will not be displeased.

Ordered, based on the excellent reviews, and it doesn't disappoint. Clean design, quiet, both of my cats are using it. Only negative is that you can see the filter a tiny bit (see video), but that's not a major detraction.
