EliteField 30" Exercise Pen, 8 Panels, Each Panel 24" Wide x 30" High

This is my first experience with an exercise pen (called ex-pen). WONDERFUL addition to my line up of puppy management tools. My puppy came to me already accustomed to the ex-pen, and so never tries to escape. However, if you're starting with anything other than a very small puppy, be aware that a determined pup or dog could find a way out. Also, the height you choose should correspond to the adult size of your dog.

In addition to the crate, which is the only way to ensure truly safe enclosure, the ex-pen is a VERY useful way to allow your pup/dog to stretch out, have plenty of airflow, and have an unobstructed view of you while still being kept safe in an enclosure.

This product appears to be very well made. It's easy to fold & unfold; light enough to move around fairly easily, although you must be able to lift approx. 25 lbs; and, although I didn't realize when I ordered that it was finished in gold-tone, I'm glad it is, because it looks really nice, as pens go. I ended up ordering a second one for outside use. It has been money well spent.

If you have a small dog (ours is an 8 week old Chihuahua)you will want this pen over any others. Take a close look at the picture & the area under the door opening. Every other one I looked at had an opening that was very tall on the bottom. This one has very low wire under the door. The taller ones are harder for small pets to get in & out. My baby has no issues getting in & out of this one. I purchased this to enclose the "potty pad area" so she can learn the area is only so big & she shouldn't venture off. So far it's working like a charm. And when I close the door behind her, I don't have to chase her all over the house when she darts off in another direction. I'm finding this a very invaluable addition to our doggy supplies. I will be buying another one just so it's on hand. This pen can be shaped into a square, rectangle or circle. This gives you a huge advantage to fitting it into the right place. This can also be used in a straight line if you have a large room you want to block off. This pen covers 19 feet when stretched out.

This enclosure is not as secure as I would have hoped. The sliding latches work their way free as my pup pushes on the pen walls and door. I have had to resort to using binder clips at the top and bottom of the pen door in addition to using the clip meant to hold all the panels together when folded up in order to keep my pup from escaping. Other than that, it is a good product for the price.

This play pen is perfect for my teacup yorkie. The material is high quality and durable. The finishing was great and leaves me comfortable knowing that my puppy is safe in there. If available I would like to buy another one soon, one that has panels that open up and allows me to add panels.
