I have three cats (and a dog that thinks he is a cat), and this was a great buy for all of them. I often find that my cats don't like to play with toys together (though they will play together without one), so the ability to have multiple toys for each cat was a great option. They can now go crazy chasing after things that roll, jingle, and flutter without having to fight for it with the other cats. And the toy holds up well when the dog gets a hold of it from time to time (but I don't recommend them playing with them long-term).
This colorful, feathered, somewhat heavy spool appeals to me far more than my cats. I think it is difficult for them to pick up in their mouths, so they can neither carry it or toss it in the air easily. Perhaps another cat might not care, but mine ignore these completely.
