Stairway Special Gate

This is a very well made, sturdy stair gate. I chose this one because it did not have scary reports of injuries or failure like so many of the stair gates I researched. We have had no problems with it, it is very sturdy, and easy to open but locks out babies well. Highly recommended!

Easy to install, easy to open and close but not easy enough for my kid to figure out. Comes with a stop so that the gate will only swing in one direction, perfect for top of the stairs.

Product arrived quickly and was satisfactory. Built fairly well and easy to install. The only reason why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the lock-unlock mechanism is not easy to operate with one hand. I use a combination of one hand/one foot and that get's the job done.

Used this on top of deck stairs and works well but latch difficult to open and is starting to rust.

I placed this gate at top of stairs and works great. However opening this gate is so loud that when child is asleep must climb over to not wake her. Have opened at night time while they slept and the sound woke them. Install was okay, not easy nor hard. Husband is not the most handy but installed it in 30 minutes. The gate is sturdy, works great but a bit noisy and sometimes difficult to open. I would say buy the gate, we have moulding and worked great just above it. Did not hit the railing, had that problem with another gate.
