SmartyKat SkitterCritters 3-Pack Catnip Mice Toy

SmartyKat SkitterCritters 3-Pack Catnip Mice ToyMy review is based on having purchased these at the store, rather than on Amazon, as I've consistently found them to be less expensive in the store... but we've also bought over 15 of these mousies, so I'd say I can offer an informed review!

We have three feline overlords in our home. All three love Yeowww! brand catnip toys, without fail. However, the Skitter Critters are a special story all on their own.

When Captain Zoom Zoom Chaos, the Marquis de Mouser (aka Zoomie) deigned to take up residence in our humble home, it was clear that our meager offering of the larger Yeowww! toys would not suffice. As much as he loved rolling around with them and bunny footing them, he is a very active young lord with boundless energy for running and chasing things. My husband and I ran across this multi-pack at a local store and decided that between the balls and the two sizes of mousies, the Marquis might find some satisfaction.

Suffice it to say, "satisfaction" was an underestimation of how Zoomie would feel about our offering. He enjoys the balls and the larger mice, without a doubt. I am fairly certain he'd marry the smaller ones if such a thing were possible. That's what led us to buying MULTIPLE 3-packs of just the mice. It's clear that he would wither away into depression if he could not have one of his mousies at paw whenever he wanted and being small, they tend to disappear underneath furniture & appliances with shocking regularity. (Pro-tip: a bamboo back scratcher is an ideal mousie retrieval tool for scooping around beneath hard-to-move furniture & appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers & driers, couches, coffee tables, entertainment centers, recliners, etc.)

He throws them in the air. He bats them across the floor. He bats them under furniture and then scoops them out (if they haven't shot too far under). He carries them in his mouth. He snuggles them. He rubs his face all over them. He drops them on our faces while we're sleeping if his food bowl is empty. He sets them in his food bowl so that they may share in his noms. He hides them under blankies. He hides them under rugs. He drops them in boxes. He collects them up and makes piles of them. And he gives you the most pathetic and sad little face if all of them are in need of retrieval until you grab the back scratcher and scoop them out of their hiding places.

Grand Dame Gizzy Plushybutt and Princess Bella Prettyfoot the Wise are also enamored of these mousies, without a doubt... but not to the degree Zoomie is... his love for the mousies knows no limits.

As his human servants, it is incumbent upon us to ensure an endless supply of mousies that will last into the next few decades. What this essentially means is that every time they are restocked at our local store, we buy them out. The Marquis shall never be without his mousie companions. So it is meowed, so shall it be...mousies without end.

We purchased this toy for our cats and they absolutely love them. However, they are so enticing that one of our cats managed to swallow one and it got lodged in her small intestine requiring surgery to remove. If you purchase these toys, please heed the warning on the back and supervise your cat at all times.

One of my cats loves to play fetch with toy mice. Not sure why, but she always has. These definitely fit the bill and she will bring them back to us and roll around with them

My cats really like these little mice. The toys are lightweight and easy to grip, and this makes for entertainment for the kitties and for me as the cats flit about and play. My cats really like the tails on the mice, too--it's easy for them to dangle their pretend prey.

I didn't think my kitten (3-4 months) would care for these, because they are just simple mice, they don't DO anything, but he went crazy for them. All I had to do was put them on the floor or throw them and he pounces at them and plays with them for hours just batting them around and chewing on them. I got mine at Walmart though for less than $2 so I'd NEVER pay close to $7 for these!
