This Cat condo is made of good quality materials and is quite sturdy when compared to less expensive models I have seen. Product was very easy to assemble using the included diagrams, but I have to caution that the written instructions where in French only. I had no trouble assembling the product with only the diagrams as my guide, considering the diagrams where very detailed.The only Con I can come up with is that I do wish the base plate was a little larger to give the condo a little more stability. I don't believe the condo is dangerous, but I did decide to anchor mine to the wall for my own peace of mind. I have one large cat and one medium sized cat and I just wanted to feel safe in letting them jump and wrestle on the product.
Both of my furry friends are already calling "dibs" on the penthouse. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who has Cats, or Kittens, who would enjoy climbing and clawing something other than your couch.
UPDATE : I now own 3 of these condos and could not be more pleased.
Video Review: This is my bengal kitten testing the cat tree. 9 days shipping to Canada. Fast 15 mins installation! I think the cat tree is verry nice and high like 7 foot high but the base is verry small so if your cat is big and go high the tree will probably move. Also the material look good on picture but this is not made in real carpet. This is cheap fake carpet the cat can't climb, i would prefer to have real carpet around the scratching posts! Overall this is a super nice tree for the price and my bengal kitten seems to love it.good for smaller house cats. I have a 15lbs house cat that doesn't really care for it. He is too tall to fit into the house openings. However, the "smaller" 10lb house cats like the tree. Especially the top perches and the basket to nap in. I put the basket one level up on the same pole. The cats seemed to prefer that.I received this cat tree condo for my 7 cats to play on and was pleased that it arrived so quickly but a little disappointed with the design. From a photograph it is difficult to see what my problem is but ... once the cats get up the 'tree' there is no platform to jump back down. I have 3 cats that are a little on the 'chunky' side and it is difficult for them to jump down from heights more than about 3 feet up. I am having my husband, who is a sheet metal journeyman, fabricate a makeshift platform to attach to the same 'arm' of the tree as the little hammock bowl (on the left side)to make it easier for my kitties to get down without hurting themselves. I think once we have that problem conquered the cats will show more interest in climbing on it as they do on my other cat tree.We have purchased this from Amazon about 8 months ago. Both of my cats love this cat tree! There are a few factors that might depend on your cat(s) size to consider. My experience with this product is based upon our 12 lb and 6 lb cats.
* The kitty hammock is a favorite for our 12 lb cat. It tends to sag quite a bit and isn't made from the best material and has been in the process of tearing at the sides for about 5 months.
* The front pedestal is horribly made, the cats use this as a launching pad causing the entire unit to shake. It is only held in place by a single screw.
* The entire unit shakes when the 12 lb cat climbs up.
* The mouse hanging from the top level lasted about 20 minutes.
* After 8 months of use the carpet and sisle rope have started to loosen and tear.
This tree house isn't the best quality but generally it has been a favorite toy for our cats. There are some issues with it but depending on how active and large your cats are the results may be different. The base could be larger and made of better materials.
