KONG Turtle Refillable Catnip Toy

My cat absolutely loves Kong catnip and the refillable toys! He already has a few refillable animals, and the turtle is the newest one I got for him. It's the perfect size for him to hit around the floor or carry it in his mouth. I love that it comes with a little container of catnip. And it's easy to refill and durable enough to twist when its full to get the catnip oils out. I would definitely recommend this toy!

This is my cat's absolute favorite toy. She pounces on it, then will carry it about the house proclaiming her victory. Occasionally, she will deliver it to our feet as a gift, so that we will praise her for her hunting prowess. Her other toys get nowhere near the same amount of attention.

It is easy to refill, is very durable, and has survived a hand-washing and tumble dry. My only complaint is that the catnip and stuffing share the same compartment, making it impossible to fully remove old catnip, as it gets thoroughly mingled with the stuffing.

MY CAT LOVED THIS TOY. I MADE SURE THAT THE CATNIP WAS WELL ENCLOSED IN IT. HOWEVER; RECENTLY NEW EVIDENCE IS BEING PRESENTED AGAINST THE USE OF CATNIP FOR YOUR PETS. I CAME ACROSS THE INFORMATION WHEN I SPOKE TO MY CAT'S VET, AND GOOGLED THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF CATNIP AFTER MY CAT PASSED ON.

THIS TOY WAS ONE OF MANYWITH CATNIPTHAT I HAD GIVEN OUR CAT FOR ABOUT A YEAR. WITHIN THAT TIME, MILO (OUR CAT,) DEVELOPED A HUGE TUMOR ON HIS LUNGS. HE DIED A VERY PAINFUL DEATH EXACTLY A MONTH AGO: MAY 12,2013. WE HAD HIM CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES, AND HAD MADE AN APPT. TO EUTHANIZE HIM, BUT HE DIED AT HOME BEFORE WE GOT HIM THERE.

THE VET STRONGLY SUSPECTED THAT THE CATNIPWHICH HAS BEEN SAID TO CONTAIN A CANCER CAUSING AGENT,WAS TO BLAME. HE HAD NEVER EVEN BEEN SICK DURING HIS FEW YEARS BEFORE I STARTED BUYING CATNIP FILLED TOYS & LOOSE CATNIP BAGS, AND WAS A HOUSE CAT ONLY SO HE COULDN'T HAVE EATEN ANYTHING OUTSIDE EVER THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS.HIS CHECK-UPS, EXCEPT FOR THE LAST FEW ONES, ALWAYS PROCLAIMED HIS GOOD HEALTH.

I NOTICED (PERHAPS TOO LATE BEFORE THE CONNECTION WAS MADE,) THAT AFTER GIVING HIM A NEW CATNIP TOY,OR SPRINKLE A BIT OF CATNIP ON HIS BEDDING, HE WOULD OCCASIONALLY STOP EATING, AND OR, VOMIT A LITTLE. BUT THEN, HE WOULD SEEM TO BE FINE. EVENTUALLY HE HAD A LITTLE WEIGHT LOSS. I THOUGHT AT FIRST HE WAS BEING FINICKY AGAIN. HE LOOKED FINE VERY QUICKLY AFTERWARDS, AND HIS VET WAS FOOLED AT FIRST ALSO. THE LAB RESULTS ONLY CAUGHT THE CANCER AT THE END WHEN WE TOOK HIM IN AGAIN WITH A SORE ON HIS LEG THAT WOULD NOT HEAL.

I FEEL ABSOLUTELY SICK WITH GUILT. I KNOW THAT THIS TOY ALONE DID NOT CAUSE IT, BUT NONETHELESS, I WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING THAT CONTAINED IT.

JUST TO BE SAFE, I WON'T EVER PURCHASE A CATNIP TOY OR CATNIP ANYTHING AGAIN!!!
