Da' Fur Thing, Catnip, Fur & Feather Cat Toy

Da' Fur Thing, Catnip, Fur & Feather Cat ToyI bought this because I stupidly thought that since this toy is called "Da Fur" that it would be associated with the "Da Bird" toy that my cat loves. The problem is, it's not and there's nothing on the toy that clips on to the "Da Bird" pole in order for it to work with that toy.

My cat still likes this toy, throws it in the air and really has a good time with it but don't buy this if you want to use it with your Da Bird cat toy.

These were on clearance at my local pet store for $1, so I bought one on a whim. I didn't have high hopes for it. Any cat owner knows how particular cats can be; every toy I thought she'd love is sitting in her shoebox, abandoned. And this is just a clump of fur with some feathers attached.

Well, human appeal means nothing compared to the cat's opinion, and this toy was a a huge, immediate success... and continues to be even months later. Every time I fish one of these out from underneath furniture, my cat's eyes get wide as saucers. She loves to chase it, toss it, dribble it and even catch it when I throw. It's great for interactive play or letting her entertain herself. It's got just enough weight to get some distance but it's light enough that she can easily carry it to her "den" after delivering the killing bite.

I went back and bought all the remaining ones on clearance.

Be careful, though, as the feathers are not attached too well so you'll find ripped out feathers everywhere for a few days. Mine still have a feather or two each barely clinging on but once they're gone, I don't predict this toy to lose any appeal.

This is one of my cats favorite toys. For some reason, both my cats went crazy for it, jumping with it, tossing it, running around the house with it...they are really drawn to it. We were given this toy by a family where this toy continues to be their cat's favorite, even with no feathers, no catnip, the kitty still takes it all over the house and plays with it.

The picture here doesn't do it justice. In this photo, the dark, unidentifiable part is actually colorful feathers, not a pincher-sort of thing.

This toy may not appeal to people but for whatever reason, cats seem to love it. It's a toy they can entertain themselves with. All you need to do is sit back and watch them have fun. Try it, it's really worth it.

A fur foot filled with catnip and feathers to top. A favorite of my youngest feline. But make sure to pick this toy up when you can't supervise play don't want your cat to eat the feathers.

I have bought two of these now; the first got shredded open by the aforementioned cat so I had to replace it. Absolutely fun to watch her toss it around though. Big fan of Da Bird brand toys.

My cats love this thing. They bite, tackle, and bunnykick it. My two cats are usually not possessive about anything, but they become possessive over this toy. Unfortunately, it lasts one day. By the next day, all the feathers are pulled out and even the "fur" core has been bitten thru. This is not a particularly interactive toy, so you wouldn't think to stow away the toy while you are away, but that's what you would need to do if you want it to last more than a week. Doesn't seem worth it, does it? ... but my cats LOVE it. So I have accepted this as a semi-disposable, limited use toy. I even bought another, knowing full well it would be demolished within the day again. And I'll probably buy yet another one a few months down the line.
