Alfie Couture Designer Pet Apparel - Bumble Bee Costume - Size: L

This is a very cute costume, great for the price, and looked good on my mom's Chi/Terrier mix dog. That said, the XL would probably have fit better as the L was just a touch too tight. These costumes are meant for really little dogs--pocket sized pups to probably about 11-lbs-ers. The people who made these costumes clearly have not heard of the vanity-sizing trend.

For sizing purposes, my mom's dog is about 10.5 lbs, maybe 10-11 inches long, and is some sort of chi/rat terrier mix. I would consider him to be quite little, and he is lean with long legs, and without any sort of chest to speak of. I don't have his exact measurements, but I would say he definitely small for his weight. He could squeeze into the L, barely, but the hood was too short to get to his head, so the XL would have been a better choice.

I bought this item in both medium and large because I was not sure which would fit. Even the large was ridiculously small. There is NO WAY it would fit my dog, an 18 lb. Welsh Terrier. Sizing is really off.
