It is very easy to throw. We have had since Christmas, it has survived snow storms and even got caught up in the snow blower and it is still in great shape. Enjoy! My dog is a chewer! She also loves playing tug and will drop anything when a rope like toy is offered. Ropes generally last a couple of hours before she has them unraveled and chewed in half, so I thought I would try the Kong version since their products typically hold up with the pup.
As another reviewer noted, the nylon straps are just that nothing "kong" specific. She had the handle chewed off in under 45 minutes, which meant the tails came off too.
Now, I know I shouldn't have let her go to town on it, but you can't say no when those puppy eyes are begging you to let her just take the new toy and "love on it". Given that I let her chew it apart and the fact that she now has 3 new toys (the handle and tails which both still make good tug toys and the kong, which we've been filling up with treats) I can't really fault the product completely. Just don't expect that this will stand up for those dogs who want to chew on all toys!My dog is a border terrier/bulldog mix who LOVES to chew but usually destroys toys within the hour. Other reviewers said that this toy has lasted a long time as a chew toy for their dogs, but that was not at all the case with mine! Within 5 minutes she had chewed off the top loop, and just like with her other toys, she had the rest of it chewed up and broken the squeaker within the hour (probably in less than 20 minutes!) I wouldn't recommend this as a toy for a heavy chewer, but it seems like a good chase/tug toy!Our dog loves this toy. As much as he plays with it and he plays hard, it lasts several months. When it breaks, he has worn out the kong part or chewed off the tail.
