I own several labradors. If anyone has seen the film "Marley & Me" then you will understand what type of dogs I have in my care. For everyone else, lets say they are very destructive. They are able to tear up tennis balls in a matter of seconds.
APPEARANCE & MAKE
The sprong line of toys have a weird texture to them. I would describe the feel as the feeling of velvet due to the soft fuzzy feel. There are multiple shapes as well as multiple sizes.
RELIABILITY
My labradors have had an assortment of shapes and sizes for several weeks now to break in. The squeakers still work in all but one of the toys. The smaller Sprong Hex Balls are unfazed but, on the larger Hex Balls, several of the prongs have been tore off.
The velvet fuzzy material does get dirty but these balls are relatively easy to spray off and scrub compared to the dense cloth material that makes up a tennis ball. If your dogs are chewers, that velvet fuzzy material WILL come off as well as the fact it naturally comes off through normal wear and tear.
Also, during the course of playing catch or just through chewing, the material absorbed slobber and so the ball does become weighted down and splatter during the course of play.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Not utilized
PROS:
++ Sturdy construction surviving a pack of 4 labradors for 3+ weeks now
++ Assortment of shapes and sizes available to chose from
CONS:
++ Larger Hex shaped Sprong ball had its sprockets tore off too easily
++ Costly compared to similar itemsPros nice and soft and squeaky bounce to play fetch with dog
Cons the velvety lining soaks up a lot of drool, get ready to get your hands dirtyWhile this may float... it's NOT a water toy. It falls apart in the water literally. It's a horrible toy.I bought this ball and it has been nothing but trouble! I had it into the shop for major repairs last week and it's back again this week! My dog needs a ball it can count on to get from play to play.
