I bought the whale as a stuffy for a lonely little guinea pig. He loves to snuggle up against it and carries it around his cage to wherever he wants to take a nap. I had to cut a string off the top to prevent a choking hazard. I haven't tried washing it yet, so may update the review with how it holds up in the washer.
