Pet Supply Imports - Kitty Play Tunnel

Pet Supply Imports - Kitty Play TunnelI originally purchased two of the PETCO Blue & White Kitty Crinkle Tunnels for my cats and wanted to get more tunnels for them so I decided to try these tunnels instead.

They love these tunnels (I purchased four) along with two of the Pet Supply Imports Kitty Connector Tees I purchased.

These tunnels are collapsible, lined, sturdy, have a larger circumferene to accommodate fat cats, and tie together with the connector tee or additional tunnels to make elaborate structures for your cats. My four cats took turns sleeping and playing in the tunnel so I decided to order two more tunnels today.

I will tie them together in various configurations with each other or the connector tees to change up their environment and also move them around to different rooms. I will also combine them with the crinkle tunnels I have. The only thing the tunnel doesn't have are peep holes in the middle like the crinkle tunnels. However, if you buy the connector tee, there's a center hole in that they can look out of and they can also get out between each tunnel at the "tie" points becaue there is a slight separation there.

This tunnel is the absolute best in my opinion and I certainly feel it was worth the extra money.

My previously bored cat loves it! She spends a lot of time in it. We play with her in and out of it. It is soft on the inside. It does not make that crinkly noise which we, the humans, did not want. Great product!

My cat really enjoys playing and sleeping in this tunnel. She gets a kick out hiding in it with her toys as well as attacking the tie strings that hang down off of the edges. The exterior material seems durable and has a slight crackling sound. The interior is lined with a soft materiel (it reminds me of a very soft quilt batting) that might last if you don't have a cat that likes to chew on things; mine does and has already bitten a small amount out of it. It would also be a problem with a cat that wants to use its claws on it. I am not sure how durable any soft lining could be for a destructive cat, though. Overall all I consider it a very good deal for the price and my cat incorporates it in her frequent play frenzies through the house.

Every other cat tunnel I've found has a smaller opening than this oneusually just 10" which is fine for a slender cat. However, one of my cats is generously proportioned and he just couldn't fit in a smaller tunnel. It would make him sad when our slender cat would zip through and he couldn't follow. This fabulous tunnel has changed all that! If you have a Maine Coon or other larger than usual cat, this is just perfect for them. It is sturdily built as well.

The two cats, a young adolescent boy, and a grown young lady, really love this tunnel. They place chase, they go in there to sleep, its used probably at least once a day or more often by one of them or both. My funloving, slightly hyper young male enjoys teasing the dog and playing a sort of hide-and-go-seek with her. Of course, being a cat, he gets her extremely confused and with a great "DUH!" expression on her face as she fails to follow the ultra high speed moving cat around and through the tunnels and up, over, down, through, around all the furniture in the house.

We've had the original tunnel for about as long as we've had the boy cat, and so eventually I went back to Amazon and bought the connecting T-piece (Pet Supply Imports Kitty Connector Tees) and another tunnel. With that, we can tie it literally in a circle or in a v-shape, its much more fun for them.

With all the months and all the heavy usage I will say the circular "ribs" which hold up the tunnel have taken a beating. About once a day I have to sort of shake the whole thing out---toys and all--to help them stand upright again as they otherwise tend to be sort of collapsed now. My other problem---it says its washable, well, ha! Let me see the maker clean the soft white batting type material on the inside of the tunnels!! The outside part, it is true, could be wiped down, but its the inside which by now--at least 8 months of heavy use---is looking pretty dingy. The cats, of course, don't care.

At some future point when these tunnels are beyond all human help, I'll get two more, and perhaps another tee. It is one of the more expensive toys (after their cat condo), but as with the condo, worth hundreds of little toys they don't look at twice. As completely indoor cats, I feel a responsibility to provide them with at least some of the fun, and things to do, they'd find in the countryside, where my childhood cats lived.
