Li'l Pals Nail Green Trimmer for Dogs, Extra Small

I have three chihuahuas: 6 lbs, 4 lbs, and 2.6 lbs. For the smaller two, these clippers work great. Cuts through the "baby's" claws like butter. Very smooth for the mid-sized chi's claws as well. However, the larger of the three has thick claws (seems like they got a bit thicker since becoming a senior) that don't do well with something this small. It takes a lot more pressure to cut through, leaves split/scraggly edges where it didn't slice through, and it dulls the blades quickly. So I use a larger clipper for him.

Highly recommended for very small dogs with tiny nails as it's easy to maneuver and easier to avoid the quick without a bulky clipper in the way; however, I wouldn't use it on dogs that claws thicker than an average cat.

Ever since I was little, my Mom always bought these nail clippers for our cats' nails. I always wondered why she didn't buy the fancy-looking clippers in Target or Wal-Mart that have the large, cushioned handles and look a lot nicer. Now that I have cats of my own, I understand why I tried those other clippers and they were horrible. The design of these clippers is impeccable, despite the small handles and no frills. I don't know why they cut so much better than the flashy ones, maybe it has to do with the leverage. Anyway, I was so relieved to find these the exact same clippers my Mom used to use all those years ago. They're the only ones I ever want to use.

***BE VERY CAREFUL***

Once, while trimming my very squirmy 4-pound kitty's nails, I accidentally pinched her little toe pad in the rubber handles completely by accident. She screamed and it absolutely broke my heart. I've pinched my own fingers in the clippers multiple times there's really no way to get around it but now that I've pinched her, I am VERY CAREFUL to make sure all paws, tails, and skin are out of the way of the clipper handles before I snip.

(FYI, she's totally fine there were no marks on her and I watched her walk around for a long time to make sure she wasn't limping. I gave her extra treats and kisses that day :)

For the same price as a cheap Target pair of small dog clippers, these are definitely holding up after several months of use. And they are very comfortable for me to use. They are sharp and cut without too much effort. Would definitely recommend.

My bunny does not mind these and they don't make that awful snapping noise that most others do!

Finger holes are plenty big and clipper part is perfect for my small breed bunny (probably medium breed too).

These nail trimmers are perfect for little dogs and cats. They are quite sturdy and small. I work in a groom shop and so far they are working very well. I would not try to cut medium or large size dogs' nails with them.
