I had written this review for the same product that is now unavailable, so here goes again...

This is tough to put together. It looks easy, but you need 4 hands to get the knobs into the slots and closed right. But after that...

This carrier is great. We haven't used it for taking a pet on a plane, but we adopted a stray cat and her 4 kittens, and this is perfect for getting a skittish adult cat to the vet's with a minimum of blood loss (ours).

The top opens up as well as the front. The front door is nice and large enough to push a struggling adult cat inside, but the top is the greatest. We had to wrap Emme (the ex-stray) in a towel AND a sheet just to catch her, and the open top made it easy to get her inside and remove the sheet without letting her out.

We bought this at PetSmart for $35, however I haven't seen one there since. (I think it was a "return" that they didn't know what to do with.) This seems kind of flimsy when you put it together, but it's sturdy when it's all set up. It opens in several different ways, and the openings are big enough to get a cat inside even if s/he really disagrees.

The carriers work well. I like the large window on the front and all the vent holes for my cat to look out of. The only thing (and its not much of anything) is that the clips on the top have to be perfectly lined up or the top cover won't close. With a cat inside trying to get out, it makes it difficult that the top cover doesn't close quickly

This is an awesome pet carrier. We run a small non-profit animal rescue and it's important that our critters aren't frightened when being transported anywhere--like to the vet's office. This gives them plenty of room and light, but offers the safety of being in a secure place. HIghly recommend this carrier!

I just received one and it's very nice looking and stylish, it's great for vet visits aslong as you hold on to it properly. However, this is NOT for air travel. I have worked at an airport for years, and I know that the pet carriers are kicked around harshly, if this falls it definitely looks like it would break open especially the entrance cover, looks extremely fragile. I've seen what goes on in airport ramps, and god help your pet if he gets loose as cargo (: I do have one nylabone carrier, it has a very small and weak handle, but it seems alot sturdier than this one all around and on the sides, plus its made of an aluminum material, which costs the same and is not plastic like this one, which hopefully won't be difficult to clean. Hope this helps.
