Zanies Octopus Bat and Scratch Cat Toy, 9-1/2-Inch, Blue

My cat LOVES this toy. The stick is actually a spring so it moves all over the place when she swats at it. The other review had concerns about the octopus head and pets being able to swallow it. It is a ball with fur on it and it's big enough that I don't think a cat could swallow it.

But I think that he thinks he is! He loves batting at things, so I got him one of these. For a while he played with it every day but eventually, like every other toy, he got bored with it.

Some concerns: The octopus came off. I know it is intended for cats, but at the time my dog was under 10 pounds and had not really gotten to into chewing yet. So it came off from him playing with it the way that a cat would. My other concern is the feathery material of the octopus body. If an animal got it off they could easily swallow it.

The item is a little small, because my kitten stands about the same height. The spring part doesn't stay inside of the base. Thought it would of been a little bigger and hold together, but it's ok.

Cats love this toy. But if you have one who is strong-jawed, she is capable of ripping off it's head and then pulling the rest of the body around the house......funny
