Da Bird is such a fun toy. My kids love teasing the cat with it and the cat loves being teased. Kitty never tires of it. I put it away to take out once in awhile and it never fails to delight.

The feathers do get tattered pretty quickly and the poles come apart too easily. I taped the poles together, but maybe I should just super glue them. If I had to buy another one, it would be the single pole one, not the pull apart one. Other than that, it's a winner.

Honestly my cats love this. The spinner attached the feathers is brilliant. The feathers make a mini flapping sound and it's sort of like kitty crack. BUT it is sooo cheaply made. The feather part is 2 large long feathers and 2 feathers that look like they were plucked off a feather boa. On day 2 one of the fluffy tiny feathers came off. On day 3 I had to re-tie the string back to the metal spinner. On day 4 the long feathers are pretty hopelessly mangled. And every day the connector between the two poles sucks. I have a 7 pound manx that manages to pull it apart and take the top half off. Not to mention my 16 pound bengal that really only needs to swat it to get the two halves apart. I suppose I could tape them together but storage would be an issue. And leaving it out would result in cat induced mayhem. 6 days of use for 15-20 minutes and the toy already looks rough. I'm glad I ordered the toy with extra feathers but I'm not sure I want to pay for a feather toy at the rate of 1-2 a week. But again, my cats LOVE it.

My wife and I have a cat that's a little overweight, so we got this after seeing the "My Cat From Hell" guy use it on his show on the Animal Planet network. Well, the cat loved it. The feathered bits flap like a bird and she'd chase it and swat at it, displaying more energy than we generally see from her with just about any other toy.

Of course, the string frayed and broke. We managed to tape the feathered bit back on, and it still bobbed and weaved like it used to, but now we're a little cautious about pulling it out and using it.

The only other toy my Siamese cats even bothers with is the laser light. He LOVES "Da Bird" and pulls it around all over the house when I'm not playing with him. Odds are if my picky-cranky feline loves-yours will too.

When you use this the string gets tangled up around the feather so quickly that you spend half the time untangling it. I gave it two stars because when it IS working, my cat loves it. It's so strangle though you just fly it through the air maybe 2 or 3 times for your cat, and then you have to untangle it. I don't get how the feather gets wrapped up in the string so fast.
