Petstages Crinkle and Toss Paper

My cat, like most cats, LOVES catnip. She also loves crumpled up paper... she has no interest in playing with any of the toys I've purchased, but will spend hours chasing after a wadded up post-it note.

When I saw this product I thought, 'What an amazing idea! Combined are the two things my cat loves most! I have to have it!".

Shipping was fast and the product looks nice, but when I took a sheet and crumpled it up...nothing. Not even a cursory bat of the paw. I tried rolling it past her... nothing. To my puny Human nose, it smelled like catnip (sort of).

So I took out her regular catnip toys she went bonkers! I tried the Petstages paper again nothing. Then I tried a normal post-it note she starts chasing it all over the house.

So, in summation:

Cat + Real Catnip = Win.

Cat + Post-It Note Ball = Win.

Cat + Post-It Note Rubbed in Real Catnip = Epic Win.

Cat + Petstages Crinkle and Toss Paper = FAIL.

Not only were my cats uninterested in the paper after an initial sniff, but they actually seemed to cringe away as if there was an unpleasant smell. I'm sorry I wasted my money. The catnip paper made by Kong (now discontinued) was the best they loved to play with it. Hopefully another company will come up with a better product, or Kong will produce it again.

I have 2 older cats who LOVE this product! I tear off and crinkle up a sheet for each of them as an extra treat, after they have had their morning fluids and medications. (They are littermate sisters, almost 17 years old. But they do GREAT as long as they get their sub-q fluids for renal failure and their other meds. My ladies are in fine shape, all things considered.) This product is almost certainly overpriced -and if your cat doesn't go for it, forget it! But my cats play & hang out with with their crinkle papers off & on for the rest of the day, and sometimes into the next morning. So I feel okay paying $4.90 for an almost-two-week supply (in each package), especially since it's eligible for Amazon Super Saver shipping.

I kinda thought this would be something else. The catnip smells STINKS. Its just really stupid too. Tiny sheets of paper, cant even really crinkle it its more like crumble it. Cat was totally uninterested.

Their favorite toys of these type are the mesh mouse and silky fish. The mesh covered toys were the best one cat still likes those quite a bit.
