This is a very nice cardboard scratcher. It looks in person just like the picture and came with a small baggie of catnip the cats went nuts over. It is a little messy to sprinkle the nip onto the scratcher, even while leaving the label on the bottom as instructed. However, simply rubbing the catnip onto the cardboard works, too. After kind of rubbing it in so the essential oils get onto the cardboard, I just tap the loose stuff out onto the floor and the cats eat it. I use maybe a teaspoon worth. I've also taken the scratcher over to the trash bin and rubbed the nip in there and shook it out that way. No mess.I've had this for only a week, so I don't know how long it will last, but I will likely buy again. The cats sleep on it, sit on it, scratch it and seem to quite like it.
