Animal Planet Fold & Go Portable Pet House

I received this little dog house today, and am very pleased with it. It looks just like the photo (I posted some of my own pics so you can get a more realistic view of the size) and I think it will work just fine for our new puppy. I purchased this for a 6 week old American Eskimo puppy that we'll be bringing home in about week. Instead of going for a traditional dog bed or pillow, I wanted him to have a place where he could get a little privacy. Obviously this will be fine for him while he's little, but once he reaches full size, I may need to look into something a bit larger. If you plan to use this for a small breed or for puppies (or even cats), you'll have no problems. I'd say anything over 15 pounds, and you're gonna have a tight fit. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase all around (price and quality) and absolutely recommend it.

Given that this dog house is $20, it's studier and larger than I imagined. It's really easy to set up too. Just pop open the frame of the house, slide in the mat and the "roof" sticks right on thanks to the super strong velcro. I have 13-18lb pekingese at home and they fit inside nicely (one at a time). I only wish the opening were a little bigger, but maybe that might alter the structural integrity since these are just foam pads covered in cloth.

After reading reviews I didn't expect much which is why I ordered a "used" one from amazon (new but repackaged) for only $13. Glad I didn't pay full price. Easy to assemble but as described by another reviewer the roof ends up being rounded due to how velcro strips fit together. I was worried my dog would take apart immediately because she loves ripping apart velcro but she left it alone for now anyway and did venture in. I won't be using this everyday but will take it with me for an overnight trip to see how it goes. If you have a destructive dog, I wouldn't expect this to last long.

These two dog houses were to help give the boys a personal space. Like all good plans things sometimes don't work out the way you planned. The houses are ok. They are reinforced fabric with a sturdy velcro thick roof panel that holds it all together. The floor panel gives some rigidity also. Chiweenie size dogs are probably where you want to be. Anyway...my 25 lb cat frank took over one and the other lies vacant so far. Much like many houses on my block.

I've owned similar products in the past and these are definitely better quality and worth the cost. My little girl loves to sleep in them and she is about 9 lbs and fits perfectly. I'd definitely recommend them to someone w/ a small dog (under 10 lbs) or cat so they can have a place of their own. The only negative feedback I have is that it would be nice for them to have a larger opening, a bit higher.
