There is no way to refill this toy with catnip. My cat loves it and plays with it every day. This was the best toy that I ever bought for him. White when we got it and now dirty grey like a rat. It was stated that it could be refilled with catnip but that was not true. My little red cat loves it.

The first one we had was so well loved, we ended up with stuffing everywhere. Our cats pick these up and carry them around the house. They deliver them to our bed while we are sleeping. We are on our third now because they are such a favorite. Walmart is cheaper though.

My 9 month-old cat has been attacking and wrestling my paper towels when they become 2/3 empty. He has also been stalking and pouncing on my poor, 9-year-old female cat, hoping to wrestle. NOT. In desperation I bought this toy as well as a Kong Kickeroo. This toy won hands down. Kitten stalks, pounces, tosses into the air, and wrestles this large toy rat. When he is not planning new ways to attack, Kitten even carries the rat around the house with him as if it were a kitten. I am back to order another rat. BTW, there is a small velcro pocket in the rat's "belly." It will hold a teaspoon of dried catnip. The catnip that comes with this product is stale, but add freshly dried and even my older cat becomes a bit interested.

the one we got is not gray...it's white.

it states it's refillable ...it's not.

cats are not interested...but dog loves it. :)
