The secret is a small pull tab at the bottom of the toy which you remove when the toy is new. Removing the pull tab activates a touch-activated electronic "chirp." When your cat bats the bird-shaped felt toy, the act of touching it causes it to "chirp" for a couple of seconds. This is followed by silence. My cat goes bonkers for this one.
Plus you can fill it with catnip! It has a tiny catnip pouch. I have even rolled the whole toy in catnip.
The toy is eco-friendly. It is made of 100% postconsumer recycled materials.
It certainly exercises my cat's predatory instincts, plus it makes me laugh watching her play!
Definitely add this one to your cat's toy box.Love this little toy... so does our cat! There isn't a day that he doesn't play with it great cat toy! Also very impressed with the speed in which this arrived.

This is one of my cat's favortite toys. She loved sitting in the window or on my balcony watching and crying after the brids in the nearby trees. It seemed to drive her nuts that they were always just out of her reach (albiet much to my relief). With this toy she can finally catch one of those birds though, and satisfy her predator instincts. The chirping noise brings her running from any place in the apartment. A little bit of catnip in the pouch gets her interested in it too. She bats it, bites it, pounces on it, tries is scratch it open, ect. It's been a great little toy for her, and it was reasonably priced. I've had it for about 9 months now, and it has held up REALLY well. I thought for sure she'd manage to rip the wings of it at least, with all of her rough housing with it, but it has held up to the abuse. Even the chirper hasn't worn out (and admitedly I sometimes put it up for little while when the chirping starts to drive me nuts). I'd definately buy it again!!!Read Best Reviews of SmartyKat ChickadeeChirp Electronic Bird-Sound Cat Toy Here
As all cat owners know, many cat toys are ignored when they are introduced. Cats are notoriously fickle and unpredictable. These chirpie birds are ultra-sensitive, so every touch sets them off (they were chirping as I drove home, every time I shifted the car). It seems to egg the cats on. Even our older cat goes crazy with them. I just bought another 3 (for a total of 6 at home). A+++++ winner!Want SmartyKat ChickadeeChirp Electronic Bird-Sound Cat Toy Discount?
These little birds are wonderful cat toys. My cats bat them and carry them around, and love the chirping sound.
