Our Pets Go Cat Go Catnip Flippers

Our Pets Go Cat Go Catnip FlippersThese catnip infused flippers and cat toy were seriously the answer to my prayers. I have a 5yo Siamese who I call "the cat that ate everything". He would chew anything and everything!... laptop cords, eyeglasses, candles, artificial flowers, real flowers, carpet you name it. I was so worried he would electrocute himself or otherwise ingest something dangerous. Much like a 2yo child, he would put everything he found in his mouth, and in his case he would chew it until he destroyed it. Milk rings didn't last an hour nor were they enough to satisfy his need to chew. I found these flippers at a local pet shop and thought I would give them a try. These rubber catnip infused toys ended up being an absolute Godsend for my situation. My cat LOVES them, and they are now his primary chew toy. Since buying them, he has not touched a single thing in my house. In fact, you get three of these to a pack, which is perfect! He keeps one downstairs, one upstairs and a spare is always lurking in the toybox. In fact, he will search these out when he has a need to chew. After my trial of purchasing these, I realized how effective they were, and I found and bought SEVERAL additional ones through Amazon. I will ALWAYS keep these on hand for chewers! If any of you also have a dog these work much like the Kong does for dogs... Its a natural response for them to chew, and these satisfy a chewing kitties need. They are durable (he has not yet chewed through them), and we have had them for months. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! A+

My 6 month old kitten chewed the green cat flipper to pieces. He ingested a 3/4" piece of the toy and got an intestinal blockage which required $5,000 ofsurgery to remove!! It has been 10 days post op and he is still not recuperated. Amazon, PLEASE PULL THIS PRODUCT FROM YOUR SITE!! BEWARE BUYERS, BEWARE!!

To preface my review, every cat is different and will like different things. I have the world's PICKIEST cat. He's one of the only cats on the planet that isn't interested by catnip. He only likes string and fabric scraps. Easy for me, but due to safety concerns, I can't really leave him alone with these things. So I bought him some of these flippers because he likes the little plastic rings on the "things on strings" type of toys. I tossed him one of these, and to my surprise, he immediately started playing with it. He only played with it for a few minutes though, and now only picks it up when I throw it on the ground. This is one of those toys that he has to be in the right mood to enjoy. Either way, it was surprising that he took interest at all. I will occasionally find it in different spots throughout the apartment, so I know he plays with it sometimes. I didn't give it a full five stars because he doesn't go crazy for it, but he at least will pay attention to it unlike so many other toys I've tried.

//Edit//

DO NOT BUY THESE FOR YOUR CAT! My kitty apparently found a way to chew this toy down to tiny little pieces of plastic, and he's been swallowing them. I've found piles of vomit all over the house with bits of these little plastic toys in the center. Called the vet, and I've been monitoring him. He's doing fine, but I could imagine for a smaller cat, this could be a big problem.

These are just as advertised, quality materials and no yucky rubber smell. Our cats just didn't get excited about them, nothing wrong with the product but you can't please every cat. I've found ours prefer to chase things whereas these are better for cats who like to toss things around.

Unfortunately, my cat chewed these into pieces within minutes of getting them. Good thing I was watching because it was about to become very dangerous had he swallowed the pieces.
